COVINGTON - Roy L. Dixon, age 56, of Covington Rt. 2, a life resident of the Foster area, died unexpectedly at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 30, in St. Elizabeth Hospital in Danville, Ill., where he had been a patient three days. Mr. Dixon was born in Warren County, April 2, 1913, the son of Mont and Maude Littleton Dixon. He was married Dec. 24, 1948, to Alice Ramsey Ferguson, who survives. He was a truck driver and had been employed by the OK Trucking Co. since 1952. He was a member of Local 26 of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters and was steward of the local. Surviving, in addition to the wife, are: his father and stepmother, Mont and Mary Dixon of Covington; one daughter, Mrs. Grace Joan Blankenship of Dennison, Tex.; two step-daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Nehrig of Veedersburg and Mrs. Karen Ottenhoff of Melbourne, Fla.; one stepson, Ray Ferguson of Covington; two step-brothers, Orrie Dixon of Hastings, Mich., and Frank Stanfield of East Peoria, Ill.; four grandchildren and 10 step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home here. The Rev. Charles Williams officiated and burial was in Mt. Hope Cemetery. --waw
